Former Bitcoin Foundation Director Enters New Hampshire Senate Race

Bitcoin advocate and cryptocurrency enthusiast Bruce Fenton has announced his candidacy for a U.S. Senate seat in New Hampshire.

Fenton served as a volunteer executive director of the Bitcoin Foundation from April 2015 to June 2016, and was a member of its Board of Directors from April 2016 to April 2018 - time.

Fenton says his early investments in Bitcoin earned him a modest fortune, $5 million of which he hopes to use to fund his political activities. Fenton is also involved with the Free State Project in New Hampshire, a political "pro-freedom organization" that aims to remove the burden of government oversight and regulation.

Fenton sees Bitcoin as a political tool in terms of freedom.
